10th Anniversary of the start of the war in Iraq

Ten years ago the United States began its war to remove Saddam Hussein as the dictator of Iraq. There's been much debate about why the US went to war, whether the US should have gone to war, if the war was worth it or not, and if the US lost or won the war. We may differ on the answers to these questions, but most acknowledge the importance of the war and its impact on our society and on world affairs. For good or bad, the war changed the political dynamics in the middle east and in the US.

I've provided a few links to articles that demonstrate the current debate over the war and its legacy.

And of course, the struggle for stability in Iraq continues as evidenced by the attack in Baghdad highlighting the anniversary of the war:

Regardless of your views on the war, many brave Americans died fighting in Iraq and continue to die in Afghanistan. We should remember their sacrifices. This website has a list of over 6000 Americans who died in Iraq and Afghanistan. It also includes photos and descriptions of how they died. Many of use have friends and family who are listed on the page.
